Whether we like it or not, many people do “judge a book by its cover”. This is that first impression. So what first impression do potential clients have of you and your business when they see you for the first time?
Consider this scenario. Someone has contacted you about your services and you have made an appointment to see them at their home. Whether you are a business person, professional or tradesman, quite often the first thing people will see when you arrive for that appointment is the car you arrive in. Does it look clean and presentable in a way that gives clients a confidence about what they can expect from your services?
MKD has a fortnightly client who is a real estate agent. He takes his business and presentation very seriously and was mindful about how his 10 year old Honda Civic compared to a nice shiny Mercedes or BMW. Once we started regularly detailing his car, the condition inside and out continued to improve. Potential clients were clearly seeing the complete professional package, and in a relatively short period of time, he has become one of the most successful agents on the Gold Coast. Recently the Honda was replaced by a brand new car that I have the pleasure of looking after.
Now compare this to the agent who presents a different first impression. Their car hasn’t been washed for weeks or months, has empty drink bottles on the floor, spilled coffee on the consul, fries that have fallen under the seat, and a smell that confirms all of this! Basically, the vehicle has become a mobile office. This first impression say heaps to potential clients about you as a person, your business and your professionalism…and would you really want others to ride in a car with you in that type of condition?
So why shouldn’t you have your car detailed on a fortnightly or monthly basis? We’ll come to your home or workplace…plus it’s a tax deduction for businesses! There will always be the usual running costs associated with a car, but why have one in a condition that is potentially costing you income?
